Service Engineer –Coating-
Organization
The position reports to the Director of Technical Service
Education and experiences
degree as a mechanical engineer or electrical engineer
experience in operating and optical thin-film AR coating and hard coating machines by dip
and /or spin coating. Experience in vacuum technology is preferable
Excellent skills in problem-solving, excellent organizational skills and excellent teamwork skills
Min. 2 years working experience in thin-film technology
Fluent in both spoken and written English (CET4-6 or equivalent level) & Chinese, Mandarin preferable
Diligent and independent approach
Well versed in MS Office
Willing to travel
Work task
Servicing Satisloh equipment at customer side or in the house such as warehouse and academy
Supporting the service hotline in any enquiries
Installation and Operation
Integrate new equipment in existing systems, performing machine installation, function test,
Optimization and adjustment on machines and processes.
Operate coating machines and manage to the trained customer on our machinery in English and Chinese.
Evaluation and execution of processes and quality tests: Measuring optical parameters as reflectance curve, transmission, reflection and haze of optical thin film coated lenses. Interpretation of quality test results and documentation of the results.
Maintenance and Trouble Shooting
Maintenance of coating machines, troubleshooting and reporting problems or possible improvements.
In case of warranty clarify the root cause, determine the damage/repair scope and forward to
Supervisor for decision.
Coordinate work sequence, workmanship etc. (on customer side) with their service people.
Give suggestions for improving the maintenance and machine output quality with respect to technical regulations and guidelines.
Error diagnoses on machines and specifies actions to solve errors.
Furthermore is required to have capability knowledge to detect functional relationships in physical and mechanical fundamentals, basics of control and regulation technology such as electrical components, mechanics, measuring and vacuum technology or pneumatics
Reporting
Create service trip reports, create protocol (such as measuring and error logs) and document for maintaining and operating machinery.
Create production protocols on-site throughout the whole process chain and define actions for improving yield and uptime of the equipment
